Where nonprofit culture gets real — and gets better.
A monthly virtual roundtable presented by Nontoxic Nonprofits, Inc.
Martyrdom. Performative equity. Boards that overstep. Leaders no one can challenge. Staff who burn out in silence while the mission marches on.
We know these toxins exist. We’ve worked inside them, led through them, and sometimes — if we’re honest — perpetuated them. But we rarely talk about them out loud, with the candor they deserve.
That ends here.
The Nonprofit Culture Detox is a monthly virtual roundtable that brings together 5–6 nonprofit leaders, culture practitioners, funders, and frontline voices for a raw, unfiltered 60-minute conversation about one specific cultural toxin that’s quietly — or loudly — destroying nonprofit organizations.
No polished talking points. No sugarcoating. No vague best practices.
Just real people, naming real problems, and working toward real solutions.
Each episode closes with The Antidote — where every guest names one concrete thing organizations can do right now to start detoxing their culture.
Monthly. Virtual. 60 minutes.
Every month, we put one cultural toxin under the microscope. The conversation is the event — no slide decks, no keynotes, just an honest roundtable with people who’ve seen it all.
Here’s what each episode looks like:
Set the Toxin — We name it clearly and frame why it matters.
Lightning Round — Every guest shares when they first encountered this toxin. Sixty seconds. No filter.
Open Roundtable — The real conversation. Where it comes from, why it persists, who it harms, and what keeps organizations from addressing it.
The Antidote — Every guest leaves you with something actionable. Not theory. Practice.
We deliberately bring together voices from across the sector — because nonprofit culture is everybody’s problem and nobody’s excuse.
Different roles. Different perspectives. One honest conversation.
The Nonprofit Culture Detox is launching soon — and we’re building the table now.

We’re looking for nonprofit leaders, practitioners, funders, and culture-forward thinkers who are ready to have an honest conversation on the record.
